Offscript / Connections

Know the meeting.
Bring the context.

Use your upcoming meetings to find the context worth revisiting before the call: the people involved, the previous conversation, and the commitments still open.

What Google Calendar adds.

Offscript uses Google Calendar to bring upcoming meetings into view and support meeting briefings and pre-brief context. The calendar provides the schedule; relevant captured conversations and commitments help explain what may need attention.

A calendar invitation by itself is not a record of the discussion. If there is no relevant captured history, a briefing cannot supply that missing conversation. Treat an incomplete brief as a prompt to check the source, not as proof that nothing is open.

Connect Google Calendar.

  1. Open Settings → Connections in Offscript.
  2. Choose Connect beside Google Calendar.
  3. Select the Google account whose meetings you want to use, and review the permissions shown by Google.
  4. Return to Connections and check the connected email address.
  5. Check an upcoming event you recognize before relying on the schedule.

The current calendar workflow reads upcoming events from the connected account’s primary calendar. A shared calendar or a different Google account may not supply the event you expect. Check the account and calendar when an event is missing.

A three-question preparation routine.

  1. What did we agree last time? Find the original decision and the person who accepted each next step.
  2. What has changed? Check later messages, dates and issue updates that affect the agreement.
  3. What should we resolve today? Bring one specific question or decision into the meeting.
EXAMPLE / YOUR NEXT MEETING WITH MAYA
You still owe the revised proposal. The launch moved to Friday. Ask whether the team’s final review will be complete before confirming that date.

This fictional example connects preparation to the commitments you are already tracking. It gives the next meeting a purpose without turning the briefing into another document to read end to end.

Keep schedule and agreement separate.

A meeting on Friday does not mean a deliverable is due Friday. An attendee list does not prove who owns an action. Use the calendar to locate the conversation, then check the agreement in its source.

This page describes meeting visibility and preparation. It does not promise that Offscript reschedules events, attends every meeting or has access to every calendar in your account.

When a meeting is missing.

  • Check that Connections shows the expected Google email address.
  • Check whether the event is on that account’s primary calendar.
  • Verify the event time and timezone in Google Calendar.
  • If access has expired or the connection is no longer active, reconnect and check the status again.

Choose Disconnect in Connections when you no longer want to use this calendar. For data-handling questions, read the privacy policy; for an unresolved error, contact support.

Calendar connection questions.

Does connecting Calendar also connect Slack?

No. They are separate connections in Settings. Connect the services you want to use and review each authorization.

Will every event have a detailed briefing?

The useful detail depends on available meeting and conversation context. An event with little relevant history may not have much to summarize.

How do I use a briefing after the meeting?

Confirm the new decisions and owners, then record the next steps. The follow-up guide includes a recap template you can adapt.

A little backup.
