What the Slack connection helps with.
The Slack connection surfaces relevant DMs, mentions and threads needing your reply in Offscript’s Library. It helps bring conversation context into questions about what changed or what you need to answer.
Supported replies can be sent back through the Slack connection after you review them. Check the destination and the message, especially when a reply includes a date or a commitment. Having a draft is not the same as having sent it.
Connect Slack in Offscript.
- Open Settings → Connections in Offscript.
- Find Slack and choose Connect.
- In Slack’s authorization flow, check the workspace and requested permissions. Follow any workspace approval requirements.
- Return to Offscript and check that the Slack row shows Connected with the expected workspace name.
The permission screen describes the access you are granting. The connection can read supported conversation history and supports sending replies. Only authorize a workspace you intend to use with Offscript.
Follow the changed date back to the promise.
In the fictional Tuesday example, Maya moves a launch date in Slack after you promised a proposal in a meeting. Instead of asking for “an update,” connect the message to your deliverable.

What to check before relying on a reply.
Do not assume Offscript sees every Slack message or that every message addressed to a group is assigned to you. Visibility depends on the authorized connection and the conversations it can access.
Check the recipient, thread, dates and source context before confirming a reply. If a detail is missing, ask for it rather than treating an inferred answer as confirmed. For a commitment that depends on the response, keep it open until the answer arrives.
If the connection is not working.
- Wrong workspace: check the workspace name shown in Connections and reconnect to the intended one.
- Reply permission missing: reconnect Slack if Offscript says the connection cannot post messages. An older authorization may not include that permission.
- A conversation is missing: check your access to it and the connection status. A connected account does not promise complete coverage.
- Still blocked: contact Offscript with the visible error and the step that failed. Do not include passwords or access tokens.
To stop using the connection, choose Disconnect in Settings → Connections. Consult the privacy policy for data-handling and deletion details.

Does Offscript reply automatically?
Review the suggested text and confirm supported reply actions. These website examples never send messages.
Does a Slack connection replace meeting notes?
No. A meeting can contain the original agreement while Slack contains a later update. The useful context is the relationship between the two.
What should I do after I send a follow-up?
Track the answer you still need. A sent message does not confirm the deadline or complete the proposal. Use the commitment guide to keep those states separate.
